Meet the consultants

Most accessibility advice comes from people who study blindness. Ours comes from living it — and from the professional training to teach it, test it, and fix it. Sense and Service is co-founded by two blind consultants who bring hospitality, food, digital accessibility, and multilingual content under one roof, in service of blind people, people with low vision, and visually impaired people alike.

Daniel Aronoff, LMSW, CVRT

Co-founder — hospitality, food, and labeling

Daniel Aronoff has been blind since childhood. He is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) and a Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (CVRT) — the credential held by the professionals who teach blind and low-vision people to navigate the world. He knows both sides of the table: what a blind or low-vision guest needs, and how a business can realistically provide it.

As the blind food critic behind The Blind Taste Test, he has reviewed restaurants the way he now audits them — by touch, taste, and how a room treats someone who cannot see it. Follow his criticism on Instagram as @blindfoodcritic. His judgment is professional, specific, and kind: the goal is a better business, not a scolding.

He has been commissioned by Civil Eats to write an opinion piece on FDA front-of-package food labeling policy — a subject he knows from both directions, as a blind shopper reading packages by touch and as a policy writer.

He also brings an international perspective few consultants can offer. He lived five years in San Sebastián, Spain, where European law has required braille on medication packaging since 2005. He has lived under a system that labels by touch as a matter of routine — and under one that does not.

Estefanía “Ania” Miner

Co-founder — digital accessibility and multilingual content

Estefanía Miner is an Accessibility and Multilingual Content Specialist with 15+ years of experience in assistive technology, digital accessibility, and international content management. She bridges communication gaps through inclusive design, multilingual proofreading, and accessible digital content — and she uses the technology she tests every day.

Since 2020 she has worked as an Accessibility Consultant and Multilingual Proofreader at Arisa Labs, including accessibility and Spanish-language localization work on the Eclipse Soundscapes app, an app built for blind and low-vision users. She reviews and adapts digital content to meet accessibility standards for visually impaired users and works with teams to improve clarity across Spanish-language content.

She is co-founder of the Begiris Association for the Blind (2014–present), a nonprofit supporting visually impaired people, where she built and maintains an accessibility-first WordPress website. Since 2012 she has also been an Accessible Technology Teacher with the Blind Association of Gipuzkoa, training blind and low-vision users in assistive technology — JAWS, VoiceOver, and braille — and adapting documents into accessible formats.

Ania holds a law degree from UNED, Spain, and works as a freelance Spanish–English translator and film subtitler.
